Detailed Description

Job Summary:

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the oversight of equipment, supplies, and lab kits in support of Decentralized Clinical Trials projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Orders and maintains inventory of ancillary supplies for each project to maintain quality and integrity of all materials.
  • Interacts with equipment vendor(s) to place orders for required equipment (e.g., centrifuge, ECG, etc.) per project.
  • Receives lab kits from central laboratories, tracks expiry dates and maintains inventory per kit type as required per project.
  • Prepares individual visit kits following kit instructions outlined by the project team.
  • Ships equipment, supplies, and lab kits directly to GoClinical Clinicians in the field Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials in preparation for decentralized visits in North America.
  • Coordinates shipments of materials to regional depots globally, as required.
  • Communicates directly with DCT project teams to coordinate logistics and resolve issues as needed.
  • Maintains logistics-related documentation, including shipment records and inventory reports.
  • Oversees the return and disposal of clinical trial materials at the end of the trial as necessary.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of all logistics processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. 
  • Necessary Skills and Abilities:

  • Well organized and able to multitask.
  • Able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Able to take initiative while following directives.
  • Professional, well spoken, articulate.
  • Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat application are preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience defined as a minimum of 3 years related, combined experience in education, knowledge and skills that will allow one to perform the tasks of the role proficiently.
  • Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in clinical research, healthcare, or within a clinical site environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles and practices preferred.
