Job Summary

FINN makes mobility fun and sustainable. With a flexible car subscription, we bring a true e-commerce experience to car ownership and offset all CO2 emissions along the way. Join our fast-growing startup to build the most popular auto e-commerce platform in Europe and the USA. We work with the best car brands in the world and are backed by leading global investors.

Detailed Description

Your Role

As a Senior Data Scientist you will enable our global Fleet team to boost our decision-making capabilities with powerful optimisation models that will impact every aspect of our business. You are closely involved in the development of algorithms and models that monitor the effectiveness of all fleet related analytics initiatives, while collaborating with teams across the entire organization globally. You establish a “data mindset” and enable us to balance demand and supply, fine-tune our pricing, and foster retention and customer engagement globally. The tools you build will be the glue between our product, data and business teams and enable them to make decisions faster and in a more automated way. At FINN you will get responsibility from day one as part of the Fleet Intelligence team where you will work directly with the Fleet leadership team.

Your Benefits

    • This role is based in Munich with flexibility to work (temporarily) remotely from anywhere within Germany or from home. For candidates relocating to Munich, we offer full visa support.
    • With massive growth potential, FINN allows you to quickly develop and succeed in a highly motivating startup environment with ambitious challenges in cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent fixed salary along a yearly personal development budget of 1,500€.
    • Our open, modern office in the middle of Munich is known for loads of fun with amazing colleagues and frequent team events.
    • You want to drive your own car with FINN? – Get one with our employee discount program.

Your Responsibilities

    • Question the status quo: Develop predictive models and optimization algorithms that provide recommendations on initial subscription price setting and guardrails for pricing adjustments as a key contributor in our journey towards dynamic pricing.
    • Enable others to make clear decisions: You enable others to make data-based decisions, by incorporating statistical models that are based on a vast set of market and website data, in our demand planning and strategic product portfolio planning.
    • Create transparency throughout the organization: You are instrumental in sharing key results across the organization, create buy-in by increasing transparency, and make sure that everyone has access to the data needed to make decisions. Within this, you work closely with all our core data infrastructure teams and other analysts across the company.
    • Be a data evangelist: Work with our Data Analysts and Data Engineers in supporting our teams to use tools like BigQuery and Looker. Thereby you educate them to become independent in using and analyzing data.

Your Profile

    • Graduated top of your class with a Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, computer science, engineering or a comparable field of studies)
    • 3+ years of professional experience in data science, ideally in digital product companies or e-commerce environments selling directly to consumers.
    • Experience with SQL is a must, additional experience with ETL processes and tools like dbt and GitLab is a plus.
    • Experience in data processing, data integration and analytics modeling in at least one programming language (R or Python preferred).
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau or PowerBI to operationalize your models and make them visible to other stakeholders.
    • Highly analytical and comfortable around numbers paired with meticulous attention to detail and joy in precise working.
    • Team player with a proactive mindset and an ability to think outside the box and enrich the team with new, creative ideas to overcome challenges.
    • Fluent in English.
