Who are we?

We are a biotechnology company in the foodtech and alternative protein market. Our product is Promyc, a sustainably produced, vegan mycoprotein that we are producing and developing in our facilities in Gamlestaden, Gothenburg (HQ). We are facing a rapid expansion journey as we are currently planning and building our new production site in Falkenberg. Since our founding in 2017, we have grown from a lab scale to a pilot-production facility and a team of 40 people.

What will you do?

In this position, your main responsibility areas will be to assure that our Laboratory Department continously fulfils all legal requirements and that we further can achieve a quality certification. You will also be the driving force in establishing the Laboratory Department as a support function for our Production respectively R&D Department. As we are expanding and Mycorena is facing very exciting times, you will be the main contributor in making sure we recruit the right competences to our Laboratory Department, since we continue to grow.  

Even though none of our days usually look the same here at Mycorena, some of your re-occuring tasks will consist of:

• Chemical handling according to regulations and being the main contact with authorities, as well as implementing routines accordingly 
• Creating standards regarding which analysis methods we should use in different applications
• Conduct risk analysis and create disposal routines for every hazardous chemical used in the laboratory/production 
• Creating and following a routine for external maintenance and service of our laboratory equipment
• Making sure that our employees are introduced and kept informed on relevant safety measures/risks and equipment handling

Who are you?

To succeed in this role, we believe that you probably:

• Have several years of previous experience within a similar role
• Is an individual with excellent communication skills 
• Are a naturally organised person
• Have a relevant higher education, e.g. MSc or equivalent in Chemical engineering/Chemistry/Microbiology

As the role inherently calls for it, you are fluent in the English and Swedish language, both written and spoken.
