Detailed Description

This Staff Accountant position is responsible for various accounting functions such as financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Reviews and approves transactions for aforementioned accounting functions. This position also works on complex projects.

 

Generate month-end reports for accounting including:

Equipment rental log, compensation plan report, rebate reconciliation, discount reconciliation, and open projects.

2. Close and reconcile the VISION accounts payable and employee expense sub-ledgers monthly.

 3. Month-end financial statement review.

4. Month-end preparation of adjusting journal entries; including accrual of earned but unpaid wages, depreciation, accrued interest, amortization, adjustment for prepaid expenses, bank reconciliation.

5. Review and approve AP, payroll, and invoicing transactions in VISION.

6. Check account activity at Country Club Bank via internet daily. Checking for ACH debits and credits. When identified, make appropriate entries into VISION for respective accounts.

7. Post checks received for accounts receivable to appropriate invoice in VISION. File in appropriate file in lateral file.

8. Weekly, pull open invoice report from VISION. Review for invoices over 90 days old and make phone calls as necessary to check on payment status. Make notations regarding collections progress and notify management of status; follow-up as necessary.

9. Send email to all employees and contractors three days before pay period ending date as a reminder to complete time and expense reports and to send to appropriate management personnel for approval.

10. Maintain/update the PTO accrual/reconciliation.

11. Manage employee access to Paycor and VISION.

12. Maintain the Purchase Order log.

13. Manage 1099 & W-2 verification with vendors and employees.

 

14. Report and fund 401k and HSA.

15. Review and follow up on the invoices on-hold report.

16. Maintain/update the client service agreements.

17. Various other report generation as needed and required.

18. Other duties as assigned.

 

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

1. Demonstrates an understanding of advanced accounting principles.

2. Proficient with general ledger account reconciliation.

3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.

4. Advanced knowledge of Excel.

 

Educational Requirements:

1. B.S./B.A.in Accounting or related field preferred.

2. Associates in Accounting or related field as a minimum.

3. 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of education requirement.

 

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting with multiple task responsibilities.
